BusinessExit.ca is the exit-readiness consulting arm of the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group, a Canadian business. Our work is helping founders of owner-led companies get ready for an exit. We focus on the stretch before a transaction, when the business still has time to become easier to verify, easier to run without its founder and easier to hand over. We are based in Vancouver, British Columbia, and work with owners in every province and territory.

What we do, and what we don't

We are business consultants. Our job is readiness: assessing the business the way a buyer would, then helping fix what we find.

We do:

  • assess exit readiness across finances, owner dependence, records, people and route;
  • prepare normalization schedules and supporting files for your accountant and valuator;
  • build owner-independence and succession plans;
  • assemble data rooms and business profiles;
  • explain deal terms in plain language so you can work efficiently with your lawyer.

We don't:

  • act as a business broker, find buyers or negotiate for you;
  • value businesses or give opinions of value (that is the work of a Chartered Business Valuator);
  • give legal, tax, accounting or securities advice;
  • promise a sale price, a buyer or a timeline.

That line matters. You should know exactly which professional is responsible for which decision. Our services page shows how each piece of work fits beside your advisers.

Ali Sedighi, MBA

Ali Sedighi leads BusinessExit.ca. He holds an MBA in Technology Management and has 17+ years of experience building and growing businesses, starting in 2007 when he founded ONE.ir, a full-service digital marketing agency. He now lives and works in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Ali is the founder of Conv.ca, a conversion-rate optimisation agency, and of MyAutomation.ca, and he is Founder and Managing Partner of SAZ.ca (Strategy & Acceleration Zone). He has worked with clients in Canada, the USA and Dubai, and has built 150+ live HVAC websites for owner-led heating and cooling companies.

That last point is relevant to exit work. Building and growing owner-led companies means seeing up close where they depend on the owner, where the numbers can't be traced, and where a brand rests on one person's phone number. Those are exactly the gaps a buyer examines. More of his background is on Sedighi.ca.

The group behind us

Sedighi.ca carries Ali Sedighi's own name, and through it he consults owners on growth, marketing and the technology that runs their companies. Among the brands it runs are BusinessConsulting.ca, Conv.ca, Trades.Agency, HVAC.Agency and HVAC.Digital. The broader advisory practice is at BusinessConsulting.ca.

SAZ.ca (the name stands for Strategy & Acceleration Zone) is where the group handles strategy, applied AI and revenue acceleration work for Canadian firms. Ali founded it and serves as Founder and Managing Partner, with strategic leadership by Sedighi.ca.

Together they form the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies, a Canadian group headquartered in Vancouver. Exit readiness work across the group, whether it starts here, at BizSell.ca, the group's business-sale and exit brand, or through another brand, follows the same method and the same consulting rates.

How we work

Four habits shape every engagement:

  1. Write it down. Every assessment ends in a written, scored gap list, and every plan names an owner and a date. You can hand either one to your accountant or lawyer.
  2. Evidence over adjectives. We measure readiness with things a buyer can check: reconciled numbers, documented adjustments, retention by relationship owner, days to answer a diligence question.
  3. Stay in our lane. When a question needs a lawyer, accountant or valuator, we say so and write the question down for them.
  4. Short commitments. Engagements are scoped in stages, with no lock-in. You continue because the work is useful, not because a contract says so.

Proof of method

Our case studies come from our HVAC work, and we present them as proof of method rather than as exit results. Roma Heating & Cooling saw 400% organic traffic growth in 12 months, and HVACDeal.ca generated 500+ leads at a 12:1 ROI. Both show the value of measuring results in a way an outsider can check, which is the heart of exit readiness. The results page explains what transfers.

Talk to us

The first 30-minute consultation is free and without obligation. Call, text or email; we usually reply within one business day. Fees are set out on the pricing page.

Frequently asked questions

Who will I actually work with?

You will work with Ali Sedighi, MBA, who leads BusinessExit.ca. Engagements are scoped so that the senior person who assesses your business is also the one who helps fix it.

Where are you based?

Our headquarters is in Vancouver, British Columbia, and we work with owners across Canada. Exit consultations are available in person or online by video call, as well as by phone, text and email.

How is BusinessExit.ca related to Sedighi.ca and BusinessConsulting.ca?

BusinessExit.ca is one of the specialist brands in the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group. Sedighi.ca is Ali Sedighi's growth, marketing and technology consulting company, and BusinessConsulting.ca is its general consulting brand. Exit readiness is the focus here.

Why does a marketing and growth consultancy do exit work?

Because the things that make a business grow (measurable results, documented systems, a brand bigger than the founder) are the same things a buyer pays for. Our exit work grew out of years of building and measuring owner-led businesses.
